How does the HMGP Estimate Tool work?
In order to get your house raised, the state of Louisiana recommends 3 estimates before the process can get started. HMGP.org makes it easy for you, by allowing you to send the above estimate to the house raising contractors in Louisiana that have advertised on this website.
The Louisiana house raising contractors that have advertised on HMGP.org will receive the estimate that has been calculated (upon your request), then proceed to get in contact with you within a 24 hour period (during their regular business hours).
HMGP House Elevation Funding
One of the most common residential projects funded by HMGP is elevation of a flood-prone structure including homes and housing.
If you or someone you know lives in a flood prone area, incluidng floods by hurricanes, you may be eligible for a completely HMGP funded house elevation.
States and local governments are provided grants from the HMGP (Hazard Mitigation Grant Program) enabling them to implement long-term hazard mitigation measures after a major disaster declaration. Many hurricane affected residences in Louisiana are eligible for the program.
The purpose of the program is to enable mitigation measures to be implemented during the immediate recovery from a disaster and thus reduce the loss of life and property due to natural disasters.
